Everybody deserves their beauty sleep. A good night’s rest keeps your body healthy and your mood cheerful. Not sleeping well, on the other hand, can make you cranky – a condition even coffee has a hard time fixing. A good way to ensure you get your much needed rest is replacing your existing sheets with ones made from bamboo. Bamboo sheets are not only soft and comfortable, but they also have anti-bacterial, anti-mold and anti-mildew properties. They are suitable for people who have allergies, being hypoallergenic. Bamboo sheets are also eco-friendly – much better than synthetic bedding.
If you’re a first-time bamboo sheet buyer (and even if you’re not), the large selection available online and elsewhere can be confusing. In this bamboo sheets review guide, we’ve handpicked a collection of the excellent quality bamboo sheets you can buy with your eyes closed. We also talk about some reputable brands that make bamboo sheets and we’ve created a mini-guide which tells you what to look for when buying some:

Other than that, though, previous buyers seem very happy with these sheets.

The breathable fabric will keep you cool at all times. It also traps body heat pretty well when it’s warm. Unlike with some bamboo sheets, you won’t have to worry about pilling (the small balls of fluff that form on the surface, made from the fiber). Many customers report that these sheets look and feel as good as new even with extensive use. Other rave reviews from customers say these sheets make other fabrics feel like sandpaper.
4) LINENSPA Super Soft Rayon from Bamboo Bed Sheet

The LINENSPA sheets are made from high-quality Rayon that’s soft to the touch. If you put it through the washer, it gets even softer. The pillowcases that come with the set are also a little bit larger than normal, which can be a good thing. Some reviewers have noted that these sheets tend to wrinkle, but if you follow the care instructions properly (some of which we include in our buyer’s guide at the end), you won’t have too much trouble.
The Next Best 5 Bamboo Bed Sheets
There isn’t much separating the top five best sheets from the ones given below. They are just slightly less popular or come from lesser-known brands – but customers have good things to say about them and they are all smart buys:
Common Types of Bed Sheets
Sheets are available in all kinds of shapes, sizes and material types. The fabric the sheet is made up of will determine its durability and your comfort. Here are some of the most popular types out there:
Cotton sheets are the most common and very popular because they are soft and affordable. Many of the cotton sheets with high thread counts (the number of horizontal and vertical threads per square inch) are durable and hold up well even with extended use. Egyptian cotton is a luxury cotton variant that’s known for being as smooth as butter.
Flannel is a cotton variant. Unlike regular cotton, though, they comb up the fiber and fluff it out a little. The fluffiness makes it a very popular bed sheet, especially with kids. A flannel sheet’s quality depends on its weight, which is measured in ounces per square inch.
Tencel is a (registered) brand name. It refers to fabric that’s derived from eucalyptus tree pulp. This type of fabric has a few medicinal properties – like a natural anti-odor, anti-bacterial nature. If you’re looking for a natural, eco-friendly alternative to bamboo, this could be it.
Silk sheets are perhaps the most luxurious sheets you will ever own. They are a pleasure to sleep on and are very durable – albeit they need to be handled with care. If you’re okay with emptying your wallet, silk is a good choice. They (usually) aren’t very breathable, though.
Polyester sheets are popular because they are cheap. Polyester itself is a tough, rough fabric and is generally unsuited on its own to bed sheet material. It’s usually mixed with other fabrics – like cotton and rayon – to provide a little more durability to the bed sheet.
Bamboo sheets are growing in popularity because they are very comfortable, softer than cotton, affordable and easy on the environment. Other fabrics don’t always give you the bang for the buck that bamboo sheets do.

The best bamboo sheets are well-designed and made with care. Here is a list of some top bamboo sheet makers that create superior products:

Ettitude is a reputable, socially-responsible label that creates useful products that don’t harm the environment. If you buy from them, you get products directly from the manufacturer, which saves you a lot of cash. They also offer a 30 day sleep trial – you can replace a sheet if you don’t like it.
The Ettitude Bamboo Daydream Sheet Set is a best-seller. Unlike many other bamboo derived sheets, their set is made from 100% bamboo. It’s full biodegradable. Bamboo Sheet Buying Guide
We’ve put together a mini-guide to help you find the perfect bamboo sheets. If you know what to look for, you won’t end up regretting your purchase:
· Watch out for fakes:
The most important tip we can give you is to buy from a genuine, verified seller. There are a lot of fake and imitation bed sheets that charge you a premium size for a copied, sub-par product. If your bed sheet looks bad, gets holes and pills quickly and the fabric just doesn’t feel right, chances are you bought a fake. The best bamboo sheets will stay the same after repeated washes.
· Read customer reviews:
If you love a sheet, read through the customer reviews for a better idea of a product’s viability. A bamboo sheets review from a customer who has owned a sheet for more than a year should help you make an informed purchase decision. You can also go for one of the products we’ve reviewed in our guide – all of them are from good brands with great quality control.
· Bamboo type:
100% bamboo sheets are rare. You will often get polyester mixes, viscose, and rayon from bamboo fibers. Bamboo fibers, by themselves, are tough and not very comfortable. When they are mashed to a pulp, treated with some chemicals and turned into rayon, they become very soft and durable. 100% rayon is very comfortable, though. Mixes – like 45% micro fiber and 55% bamboo – are generally a little rougher. They also tend to be somewhat cheaper though.
· Body oils:
It’s better to get sheets with darker colors (this rule applies to sheets of all types). Lighter colors may be more to your tastes, but darker colors don’t get ruined with body oils and sweat. Some bamboo fabrics will absorb the body oil and stain – and remain off color even when you wash them. Some premium bamboo fabrics resist stains pretty well though.
· Washing care:
If you put your bamboo sheet through the washer and didn’t like the way it turned out, you probably didn’t follow care instructions. Bamboo is a long-lasting fabric, but it’s also very delicate. If you don’t treat it right – like washing in cold water – it will fall apart pretty quickly. The first time you wash a bamboo sheet, use hot water – so that it shrinks and the seams/fibers get tightened. Thereafter, you should use cold water. You probably won’t have to wash bamboo sheets very often, because they are naturally anti-fungal and anti-bacterial. When you do wash them, use natural stain removers and cleaners. Avoid bleach and softeners.
· Buy a bigger size:
Bamboo sheets will shrink when you wash them, so they might not fit your mattress afterwards. It’s a good idea to buy a slightly bigger size than look for a perfect fit. However, some manufacturers sell bamboo sheets that have been pre-shrunk. These kinds of sheets won’t tighten after a wash. If you don’t know whether a bamboo sheet is pre-shrunk, you can try asking the manufacturer.
· Thread count isn’t everything:
Many people judge a sheet’s quality by its thread count. The thread count isn’t always a reliable measure for that, though. Some manufacturers inflate a sheet’s thread count by doubling the yarn used. A sheet with a low thread count isn’t necessarily less strong or well-made than one with a high thread count. You will be better off with picking a sheet with a middling thread count.
· Environmental friendliness:
Despite what most – if not all – bamboo sheet manufacturers claim, their sheets are always eco-friendly. If you’re looking to support the environment fully, look for bamboo that has hasn’t been treated. When a sheet is made from rayon, it’s treated with chemicals that are, in fact, harmful for the environment. The bamboo that’s being used itself is, of course, a renewable resource.
Bamboo Sheets: Luxury meets Affordability
If you prefer your bed sheets to have a bit more pizzazz, getting bamboo sheets is a good idea. Bamboo sheets will not only help you sleep better at night, but they will also last longer (as long as you follow the care instructions to the letter). They will help you breathe better and keep your cool when it’s warm, so you won’t have to toss and turn all night long. Many people who switch to bamboo sheets never buy a standard cotton sheet ever again.
